Raymond Reed Baker
CPA, MBA, PhD
Managing Director
Ray has a deep interest in corporate governance, as both an academic and practitioner. He began his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers and is a licensed U.S. Certified Public Accountant. From a starting point in PwC's assurance practice, he has moved on to advise hundreds organizations and individuals on areas including governance, board effectiveness, crisis management, internal controls and mergers & acquisitions. His clients have included a range of organizations operating in the United States, China and Europe, with a more recent focus on board consulting, crisis management and Sarbanes Oxley advisory services.
On the academic side, Ray is an Adjunct Professor at Hong Kong University and is a Assistant Professor at Tongji University. He is also an instructor for the Financial Times Non-Executive Director Diploma course, in Hong Kong and London.
Ray has a PhD in Accounting, from the University of Hong Kong, with a research focus on corporate governance and internal controls. His prior education includes a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Hong Kong and a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from Pennsylvania State University. Ray's technical understanding of both eastern and western business practices properly positions him to bridge divides between the two cultures.
Del Dong, Hong Kong Solicitor
Advisory Director
Del began his career with Deloitte & Touche, specializing in corporate tax. He moved onto practice law with Johnson Stokes & Master and became a Hong Kong Solicitor. While at JSM, Del served as legal council to both US and European clients, advising on corporate deal structuring, along with WFOE and JV establishment. He now leads his own advisory practice, servicing clients in Hong Kong, Shenzhen, Beijing and Xiongan. Del specializes in assisting organizations to navigate the legal and political environments in China.
Del has a Bachelors Degree in Law, from the University of East Anglia, UK. He also has a Postgraduate Certificate in Law, from the University of Hong Kong. His philosophical understanding of both western and eastern business practices properly positions him to bridge divides between the two cultures.
Steve Harter
Advisory Director
Steve is a based in the U.S. and began his career with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he gained his initial exposure to numerous IPO’s and acquisitions, and received his license as a Certified Public Accountant. In his next position as the Director of Acquisitions for AllWaste Inc, Steve initiated forty transactions over four years. His immense amount of deal experience placed him in a position to venture out on his own.
Steve formed Notre Capital Ventures, LLC, which specialized in targeting fragmented industries, identifying key players within those markets and consolidating them through “Roll-Ups” and IPO’s. He was responsible for the launching of eight IPO’s on the New York Stock Exchange and five private equity transactions, which have had aggregate revenues of over $7 billion US dollars. His Roll-Up portfolio of companies includes well known public names such as Coach USA and Metals USA.
